Week 9
Week 10
Here we are following week 10 of the college football season. The AP and USA Today have their week 10 polls out and we here at EJSIC are pretty sure we can do better because, to us, all that matters are the teams, who they’ve played, and who they’ve beaten.
So, here it is. All the information you need to make your own minds up. As always, we’re interested in your thoughts, what you would do differently and maybe a quick justification for why. Presented below are the rankings, team, record, (votes – first place votes). Also included are next week’s opponent, wins against teams currently in the top 25, and notable losses to teams with losing records.

Poll looks terrible this week. Bunch of stupid voters. Whoever voted Texas #1 should be taken out in the street and shot.
This part is especially humorous:
13. Oregon 7-2 (82) Next week: Arizona State (4-5)
Top 25 Wins: #9 Utah (8-1), #12 Southern California (7-2)
Is it bad that I was happy to see that Kentucky wasn’t listed as one of Auburn’s bad losses?
I’m surprised to see Notre Dame still in there.
I don’t think people are buying Stanford as a quality loss for Oregon. You have to drop them after a loss like that.
I’d obviously take Oregon again if they played USC again, but that doesn’t mean they deserve to be ranked ahead of USC coming off a “bad” loss in the polls. It’s just one spot.
If your logic holds true, then Stanford will beat USC as well and it’ll be a moot point next week. It’s not like any of the teams after #10 are that impressive anyway. You could draw the order out of a hat and probably be about as accurate.
Chuck, if Kentucky hadn’t blown that game at home against Mississippi State, you could make an argument for them in the top 25 over Auburn.
Kentucky is Kentucky, though.
I only count bad losses as those against teams with losing records.
And Notre Dame only got one vote in the polls – apparently one person really likes them (that same person really hates Ga Tech). I’m ok with Texas getting a first place vote – they haven’t really been challenged all year.
This week is when I decide how much I like TCU – they may get my #1 overall if they pound Utah. They’ve blown everyone out so far this year.
Iowa lost its starting QB and they should be under OSU, they will get hammered this week without Stanzi. Notre Dame just lost to a team that can’t throw the ball and has played about as weak a schedule as they could. Arizona will pound Cal if Best doesn’t play. I can see Bama over UF, at least Bama got help from the refs vs a good team (not Ark). Good job….
I can say that I’m prepared to drop Iowa to the edge of the top 25 if they get hammered this week, but since the polls are based on how they’ve done and not my anticipation, they’re still there – otherwise I think I would have had them in the 20-25 spot all season despite being undefeated.
